Harold Frey’s practice focuses on international commercial disputes. He leads the litigation and arbitration practice of Lenz & Staehelin in Zurich. Harold Frey has represented clients in numerous ad-hoc arbitrations and before the major arbitral institutions, at multiple seats and governed by a variety of substantive laws. Matters included a wide range of legal issues (such as joint venture, M&A, licensing and general contract law disputes) and industries (such as telecom, pharmaceutical and construction). Harold Frey sits as arbitrator (presiding arbitrator, sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator). He acts as counsel in large and complex litigation proceedings before Swiss courts.

Legal 500 described him as “outstanding” (2011 edition) and ranked him as one of seven leading individuals in the field of dispute resolution in Switzerland (2011-2014 editions). Lenz & Staehelin’s attorneys have been involved in several hundred international arbitrations, either as counsel for a party or sitting as arbitrators. Our arbitral practice is mainly focused on institutional arbitration and, in particular, arbitrations conducted under the rules of the International Chamber of Commerce, the Swiss Chambers’ Arbitration Institution, the London Court of International Arbitration and the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The firm is also regularly involved in UNCITRAL and ad hoc arbitrations.
